What this covers

Replacing an existing electric cooker, whether it plugs into a socket or is wired to a cooker connection unit or switch. Heating People carries out the replacement, and a qualified electrician is used where necessary. There is no fixed online price for electric cookers, so use the request form.

First-time installations and moving a cooker to a new position are different: see first-time installation and relocation. Installation is quoted separately from repairs, servicing and appliance supply.

Straightforward replacement or assessment?

Usually suitable for a replacement quote

• Replacing an electric cooker in the same position on an existing, working cooker connection.
• A model number and installation instructions you can send us.

Needs assessment first

• No suitable cooker circuit, connection unit or socket in position.
• A new position or a first-time installation, which we arrange through a subcontractor where possible.
• Damaged or old cabling, range cookers and any unusual or commercial appliance.

What to have ready

• The make and exact model of the new cooker, and of the old one if you know it.
• A photo of the cooker connection unit, switch or socket, and of the space around the cooker. Do not pull the cooker out or remove covers to take it.
• The postcode and who will be at the property.
• Whether the old appliance is still connected and whether the new one has been delivered.
• Photos taken from a normal standing position. Do not pull the appliance out, remove panels or disturb any gas fitting to take them.

Next step, access and payment

Send the details through the request form. We review the scope, then confirm the price and arrange an invoice or quote for advance payment. Heating People operates from Leyton. Send the full postcode, an occupier access contact and the person who authorises and pays. The job, location, availability and price are reviewed before a quote or invoice is issued for advance payment. Once you have paid, your booking is confirmed. A two-hour arrival window can be confirmed on the day. Where required, parking is £10 per hour; key collection is £15, or £30 for collection and return. Explain these arrangements before the price is confirmed.

We book online only the jobs we carry out ourselves. For anything else you can still enquire, and we will arrange it through a subcontractor where possible.
