Dual-fuel cooker installation & replacement enquiries.

A dual-fuel cooker uses gas for the hob and electricity for the oven. Send the full postcode, the cooker model and photos of the existing set-up. Heating People reviews the job before confirming attendance and a price.

Freestanding gas cooker with a four-burner hob, beside a wall socket for its ignition plug

What this covers

Fitting and connecting the gas side of a freestanding dual-fuel cooker, including replacing an existing gas or dual-fuel cooker. We do not give a fixed online price for dual-fuel work. Each enquiry is reviewed first, so use the request form.

Installation is quoted separately from repairs, servicing and appliance supply. For a fault on an existing appliance, see our gas cooker safety guidance or ask us about a repair.

Gas and electrical work

Heating People carries out both the gas connection and the electrical connection of a dual-fuel cooker, including the gas tightness test and safety checks. Where a qualified electrician is needed, for example for a new cooker circuit or damaged cabling, we arrange one and confirm it with you first. New circuits, cabling and other alterations are priced separately. Tell us whether the cooker plugs into a socket or is wired to a cooker connection unit or switch, and send a photo.

Do not disconnect a hardwired or gas appliance yourself.

Straightforward replacement or assessment?

Usually suitable for a replacement quote

  • Replacing a gas or dual-fuel cooker in the same position.
  • A cooker that connects to an existing gas point and an existing socket or cooker connection.
  • A model number and installation instructions you can send us.

Needs assessment first

  • Changing from an electric cooker to dual-fuel, where there may be no gas point.
  • Hardwired or damaged electrical connections, or no suitable cooker circuit.
  • Range cookers, LPG supplies and any unusual or commercial appliance, which are reviewed individually.

What to have ready

  • The make and exact model of the new cooker.
  • A photo of the gas point and a photo of the electrical socket or connection unit.
  • The postcode and who will be at the property.
  • Whether the old appliance is still connected and whether the new one has been delivered.
  • Photos taken from a normal standing position. Do not pull the appliance out, remove panels or disturb any gas fitting to take them.

Next step, access and payment

Send the details through the request form. We review the scope, then confirm the price and arrange an invoice or quote for advance payment. Heating People operates from Leyton. Send the full postcode, an occupier access contact and the person who authorises and pays. The job, location, availability and price are reviewed before a quote or invoice is issued for advance payment. Once you have paid, your booking is confirmed. A two-hour arrival window can be confirmed on the day. Where required, parking is £10 per hour; key collection is £15, or £30 for collection and return. Explain these arrangements before the price is confirmed.
