What this covers

Fitting and connecting a built-in gas oven, including replacing an existing built-in gas oven with a like-for-like model. Built-in ovens are priced once we have seen the appliance and the existing connection, so there is no online fixed-price option for this service. The request form is the correct first step.

Straightforward replacement or assessment?

Usually suitable for a replacement quote

• A gas oven being replaced in the same housing.
• An existing gas connection that is accessible and in the same position.
• A new oven with a model number and installation instructions you can send us.

Needs assessment first

• A first-time gas oven where there is no gas connection in the unit.
• A new position, a different housing size or cabinet changes.
• Any appliance that is not a standard domestic built-in gas oven. LPG, commercial and unusual appliances are reviewed individually.

What to have ready

• The make and exact model of the new oven, and the model of the old one if you know it.
• A photo of the oven in its housing and a photo of the cabinet or space around it.
• The postcode and who will be at the property.
• Whether the old appliance is still connected and whether the new one has been delivered.
• Photos taken from a normal standing position. Do not pull the appliance out, remove panels or disturb any gas fitting to take them.

Electrical supply

A gas oven may also need an electrical supply, for example for the ignition or controls. Tell us what is already in place. Any electrical work is confirmed with you before the booking is accepted, and a qualified electrician is used where necessary.

Next step, access and payment

Send the details through the request form. We review the scope, then confirm the price and arrange an invoice or quote for advance payment. Heating People operates from Leyton. Send the full postcode, an occupier access contact and the person who authorises and pays. The job, location, availability and price are reviewed before a quote or invoice is issued for advance payment. Once you have paid, your booking is confirmed. A two-hour arrival window can be confirmed on the day. Where required, parking is £10 per hour; key collection is £15, or £30 for collection and return. Explain these arrangements before the price is confirmed.
