New boiler? See your fixed price online
Heating People

Boiler relocation, flue changes & non-standard installations.

Moving a boiler, changing the flue route or replacing a back or floor-standing boiler is more than a like-for-like swap. Send the postcode and photos and Heating People reviews the job and arranges a survey before any price is agreed.

What this covers

Boiler installations that are not a like-for-like replacement in the same position:

  • Moving the boiler to another room, cupboard or the loft.
  • A new flue route, a vertical (roof) flue or a plume kit or flue extension.
  • Replacing a back boiler, or a floor-standing boiler with a wall-mounted one.
  • A new condensate drain, or a gas supply pipe that needs upgrading for the new boiler.

These jobs are assessed at a survey and priced before you agree. They are not offered as an online booking. For a like-for-like swap, see boiler replacement and the online boiler price.

Why a survey comes first

Moving a boiler changes the flue, gas, water and condensate routes. The survey checks the position, flue route, gas pipe size, condensate drain and access before the installer can confirm the work. Some jobs may fall outside what we can arrange, and we tell you if so. We do not fit oil boilers or warm-air units; LPG and commercial boilers are reviewed individually.

What to have ready

  • The full postcode, and whether the property is a house, flat or rented.
  • Photos of the boiler and its data label, the controls, and where the flue leaves the outside wall, taken from a normal standing position.
  • Photos of the visible gas meter and gas pipe, and of the place you would like the boiler to go, if it is moving.
  • Do not remove the boiler casing, climb into a loft you cannot enter safely or touch any gas fitting to take photos.

Next step and who you contract with

Send the details through the request form. We review the photos, arrange the survey and confirm the scope and price with you.

Your written quotation names the installer, who your contract is with, and your warranty and workmanship guarantee. Heating People reviews the survey findings and the price with you before you agree.

A two-hour arrival window can be confirmed on the day.
