Boiler conversions and system changes
Changing boiler type, moving a boiler or planning additional heating work? Start with the property and the system, then agree a suitable installation scope.
Changing from regular or system to combi
A combi conversion may change how heating and hot water are supplied and can involve the existing cylinder, tanks, controls and pipework. Suitability depends on the property, hot-water demand, water supply and the existing installation. Removing a cylinder is not automatically the right choice for every home.
Keeping a cylinder or changing boiler type
A system or regular boiler arrangement may remain appropriate where stored hot water is useful. Describe the number of bathrooms, simultaneous hot-water use and any planned changes. The options should be explained before equipment is selected.
Moving the boiler
A proposed new position needs assessment of the flue route, gas supply, condensate drainage, controls, pipework and maintenance access. Send photos of the existing and proposed positions, taken safely without removing covers. A relocation may involve more work than a replacement in the same place.
Additional radiators and other heating work
Describe any extra radiators, changed room layouts, towel rails or control upgrades alongside the boiler enquiry. Existing system capacity and the proposed alterations must be assessed together. Ask for separately described options where you want to compare scopes.
What to send for an initial review
Provide your full postcode, property type, bathrooms, existing boiler make and model, and photos of the boiler, controls, visible pipework and any cylinder or tanks. Explain your priorities, current problems, access and what you want removed or retained. We confirm when a property assessment is required; an online request is not a final installation specification.
What the quotation should confirm
Check the boiler and controls, pipework alterations, agreed cylinder or tank removal, cleaning method, filter and treatment, electrical work, disposal, making good and handover arrangements. Confirm who will carry out the installation, who you will pay, and who is responsible for installation aftercare. Agree changes in writing before extra work proceeds.
