No heating or hot water: what to tell the engineer

Prepare useful information when your boiler or heating stops working.

Start with the symptoms

No heating, no hot water or both can have different causes. A useful report helps the engineer understand the problem before a visit; it does not replace a diagnosis.

Useful observations

Note which taps and radiators are affected, the time the fault started and any display message. Check only the normal user controls you understand, using the appliance’s own user instructions. Tell us if the electricity supply has failed or the thermostat is displaying a warning. Do not remove the boiler casing or try to repair gas components.

Arrange the right visit

Send the postcode, appliance make and model if available, photographs and a clear description. We will confirm the service and price before arranging the work.
