Gas appliance disconnection

Arrange the disconnection of a gas cooker, hob or oven before removal or replacement. Gas work is allocated to an appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.

Tell us the appliance type, location and whether it is built in or freestanding. Safe isolation, disconnection and securing the gas supply are assessed for the existing installation.

Electric & dual fuel appliances

We also arrange electric oven and dual fuel cooker disconnections. Tell us whether the electrical supply is a plug or a hardwired connection and send photos if possible.

The work is assessed and allocated to someone competent for the relevant gas and electrical tasks. Do not disconnect a hardwired or gas appliance yourself.

• Whether a replacement will be fitted during the same visit.
• Property postcode, access arrangements and required timing.
• Any delivery collection deadline, stairs or lifting restrictions.

Agree removal and installation separately

Disconnection does not automatically include appliance removal, disposal, heavy lifting, cabinet alterations or fitting a replacement. Confirm those requirements before agreeing the job.

If a new cooker, hob or oven is being fitted, request installation as part of the enquiry so the work can be assessed together.
